In the second half of 2022 we were contacted by Mellbye Architects and Flott Gjort. We were asked to design and produce wool relief for Bakkekroen restaurant. We wanted to draw inspiration from Bakkekroen, the history of the building and its architecture. Anchor the design to the place.

The initial sketches turned out to be a bit too graphic for our expression, and we had to dig deeper into the substance. We came across some previous restaurant Tripadvisor reviews where we read that Schnitzel with peas had been a signature dish for years at Bakkekroen. A Schnitzel is a staple in a classic tavern. A fairly unpretentious, almost rustic dish. However, when made with quality ingredients and the right accompaniments, it can become a delightful meal that appeals to many. We believe this aligns perfectly with owner visions for Bakkekroen.
